Urbavore Inducted into the Second Cohort (C2) of Companies at Santa Cruz Accelerator!

Urbavore is ecstatic to be a part of the Santa Cruz Works Accelerator Program! SCW is a technology accelerator that aims to support early-stage startups in Santa Cruz County and beyond. Urbavore Selected as a Regional Finalist at the 1776 Challenge Cup Santa Barbara 2017

1776 is a global competition for the world’s most promising startups tackling complex, regulated challenges to share their vision on a global stage, engage with industry leaders, and win grand prizes. Urbavore competed in September 2017 at the Santa Barbara regional competition and earned a spot in the regional finals.

Urbavore Selected as National Finalist for ASME ISHOW Competition in Washington, D.C.

ASME ISHOW is a global competition for hardware-led social and environmental innovation. $500K, equipment, expertise, and networking are all part of the ISHOW winnings. Urbavore's VeggieNest model will compete along with nine other national finalists.


Urbavore Participates in IDEA Hub Creative and Social Enterprise Competition at UCSC

Along with a dozen other local innovators looking to benefit society with their creative ideas, at the UC Santa Cruz Idea Hub Pitch, our UCSC engineering team presented Urbavore's UBloom.

Urbavore Selected as Finalist at Monterey Bay Startup Challenge

Judges are saying the 2017 Startup Challenge Monterey Bay has seen both the best and largest group of competitors in its 8 year history; out of 91 different entrepreneurial groups, Urbavore has advanced on to the final round along with 23 others.

Urbavore Ties for Winning Presentation at GEM Accelerator Event

The Urbavore team joined 7 other local startups in a pitch competition held at Bacara Resort & Spa in Goleta, CA. Following our pitch, we fed attendees with hydroponic produce from our first prototype and began spreading the word about the food revolution.
